Purpose of job:

The CNC EDM Operator position is primarily focused on set-up, programming sinker and operation of CNC EDM’s to produce tooling components of high accuracy for plastic injection molds. This positon will also be focused on participating in the department’s KPI’s to ensure quality tools are released for production within the plastics injection molding area of In’Tech.

Level of authority:  Technical

 

Essential job functions: 

  1. Set-up and operation of CNC EDM Machines.

  2. The ability to measure finished workpieces using various techniques to ensure quality and accuracy of workpieces.

  3. Routine maintenance on CNC Wire and sinker EDM machines.

  4. Work closely with programmers, toolmakers, sinker specialist, and mill specialist to ensure quality and accuracy.

  5. Use documented methods and practices to validate and ensure quality is produced up front.

  6. Modify existing processes to enhance efficiency.

  7. Participate in the documentation of departmental processes and work instructions.

  8. Participate in collecting data for the department’s KPI’s.

  9. Continuous process improvement tasks as assigned

Work environment:  

Work is performed in an office and departmentalized Toolroom at the Ramsey facility.

  4. Mitsubishi NC hole popper

  5. Mitsubishi EA12V x2

  6. Mitsubishi EA8A

  7. Mitsubishi robotic tool changer

 

Personal protective equipment:

  1. Safety glasses

  2. Ear protection

 

Training requirements

  1. Employee orientation.

  2. Quality policy and measurable objectives.

  3. All other training as indicated on department training matrix.
